“ | My best friend looks just like you, and her name's Gretel. Just like you. And she has a hamster named Hamster. Just like you! | ” |
— Bailey, to superhero Gretel, Empower Failure |
Bailey Carter is a major supporting character in Hamster & Gretel. She is Gretel's best friend, and quite likely the biggest fan of the superhero Gretel. Because of this, she's quick to identify many similarities between the two Gretels, such as both of them having a hamster named Hamster. Despite this, she was cluelessly unaware that her best friend and her idol are one and the same, something which Gretel and her brother Kevin intended to keep it that way for as long as possible, from up until "My Invisible Friend" and "The Bitter Sitter".
Physical appearance[]
Bailey is a young girl with a dark skin complexion, dark brown hair held up in two pigtails, and black eyes, she has a high-pitched voice. She wears a yellow long sleeve sweater with green shorts and yellow shoes. She also wears dark-red glasses.

Personality[]
Bailey is an excitable, kindhearted and optimistic girl who is an avid and loyal fan of the superhero Gretel, having set up a fan club for her and being it’s president. A flaw of hers is that she can be clueless, as shown as she wasn’t fully aware of her best friend Gretel’s secret identity. This can also result in others, such as Tina, taking her kindness by advantage. When someone betrays her trust, she can be easily upset but quick to forgive. Bailey loves helping her friends, and will even go against her own love of rules in order to help them.
Skills and abilities[]
Bailey has proven to be knowledgeable in many subjects thanks to her general love of learning.
- Horses - Bailey learned about horses in a school project a few weeks prior to the events of "Neigh, It Ain't So!"
- Flatfish - Bailey studied flatfish for her science fair project, which won first place.
- Atomic composition - Bailey was able to study a glacier and easily determine that it contained high sulphate levels.
- Spelling - Bailey competed in and won a spelling bee in "My Invisible Friend."
- Oceans - In "Let's Sea What You've Got," Bailey brought the book Awesome Facts About the Ocean (And Also Lagoons) for some "light beach reading."
- Structural engineering - In "Thanks, But No Pranks," Bailey mentioned this book was "a light read."
History[]
Early life[]
Season 1[]
Throughout the majority of the first season of the show, Bailey remains oblivious to the fact that her best friend Gretel and the superhero Gretel are one and the same. The revelation occurs in the episode titled "My Invisible Friend," where Gretel saves Bailey from a falling light fixture, inadvertently exposing her secret. In the subsequent episode, "The Bitter Sitter," Bailey initially reacts with excitement to the revelation but then spends most of the episode angry at Gretel for not disclosing the truth earlier. She refuses to communicate with Gretel as a consequence. Following an adventure that involves thwarting FistPuncher in a human-shaped popsicle factory, with unexpected assistance from The Destructress (who was babysitting them in her civilian alter-ego that night), Gretel and Bailey eventually reconcile. From then on, she would help Kevin, Gretel, and Hamster with their missions alongside Fred.
