However, due to a freak accident during a stormy night, she and her kitchen utensils merged with an old oak tree laced with toxic waste, turning her into a tree-like being with kitchen appliances stuck on the branches. Following the accident, she fled deep into the nearby bayou and became a hermit, believing herself to be an outcast.

History[]

Barb was the original owner of the Bayou Lodge. One stormy night after her graveyard shift, she was heading home with a bunch of kitchen supplies in her truck. Unfortunately, she hydroplaned and launched off Dead Man's curve, crashing into an old oak tree where another truck had spilled some toxic waste recently. Lightning struck the tree, and Barb, the tree, and the kitchen supplies all interlaced to form Bayou Barb. The town was scared by her appearance, so she decided to settle in a nearby bayou in the forest. However, over the years, public opinion of her began to change. Her town decided to profit off of her legend, creating small museums and merchandise to sell and attract tourists.

After proving that the town was perpetrating the legend, Gretel and Kevin happened to stumble upon the real Bayou Barb. After realizing that they really liked her waffles, and how much the town was profiting off of her legend, they convinced her to come back and get her piece of the pie. Bayou Barb happily returned to the town to run her diner, sign autographs, and cash in on her fame.
