Daniel Kingsley "Dan" Povenmire is an American animator, director, writer, producer, storyboard artist, and voice actor associated with several animated television series. He is best known for co-creating the Disney cartoons, Phineas and Ferb and Milo Murphy's Law with Jeff "Swampy" Marsh.
He is the creator of the Disney Channel cartoon, Hamster & Gretel.[1]
Hamster and Gretel
The series is inspired by his relationship with his younger sister.[1] Dan Povenmire had an interview on Joanna Hausmann's Hyphenated Podcast, where they unveiled details on Hamster & Gretel, especially the Venezuelan parts of the show and how representation is always important on the media. Gretel and Kevin's family is more based by Dan's family than Phineas and Milo's families were, with Kevin and Gretel's dad, Dave, looking more like Dan Povenmire himself, and their mom, Carolina, looking a lot like Dan's wife.[2]
Episodes he directed, wrote and storyboarded
- Empower Failure (co-directed with Amber Tornquist Hollinger)
- Oakey Dokey (co-storyboarded with Rufino Roy Camacho II, co-directed with Tricia Garcia)
