"Evil Upheaval" is the first segment of the third episode of the second season of Hamster & Gretel, and the sixty-third episode overall. It is paired with "Ay, Ay, A.I." and premiered on Disney Channel on September 21, 2024.[1] This episode has been released early on September 18, 2024 on Disney+.

The Destructress doesn't seem to enjoy doing evil anymore while FistPuncher still revels in it, so they go to therapy to sort things out. Meanwhile, Hamster and Gretel visit Frank's Discounted Discount Costumes to find a new superhero costume.

Plot[]

At Curtis E. Curds, The Destructress discloses to FistPuncher that she is losing interest in evil. FistPuncher responds by suggesting that she merely needs to engage in "big potato" evil acts and plots to destroy the local power plant. Meanwhile, Hamster and Gretel are mistaken for Curtis E. Curds employees, inspiring them to update their look. After The Destructress refuses to join FistPuncher in destroying the power plant, they have an argument, leading to the two seeking therapy from Michelle, who suggests that they spend some time doing good.

During their exercise, The Destructress feels liberated committing nice acts while FistPuncher feels "gross." However, when they return to Michelle, only The Destructress is able to pay for their therapy session as FistPuncher leaves to rob a bank. When The Destructress attempts to stop FistPuncher, she admits to him that she hates missing out on being a normal teenager, but FistPuncher sparks another argument with her, resulting in her quitting her role as a villainess and leaves FistPuncher to do as he pleases. Hamster and Gretel arrive dressed as a cheeseburger and a hot dog respectively, after which they defeat FistPuncher, agreeing to revert to their original costumes upon FistPuncher calling them "dumb."

In prison, with his sister abandoning him, FistPuncher meets Footkicker, a fan of his, and the two agree to form an alliance.

Allusions[]

  • Chuck E. Cheese - Curtis E. Curds is a spoof of this American entertainment restaurant chain.
  • Phineas and Ferb - When The Destructress notes someone can help them in seeing through each other's heads, the scene cuts to a building directory sign, which includes the name "Dr. Heinz: Brain Transplant" at Suite 110 (before panning down to Dr. Michelle Carter), a possible allusion to Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz.
  • "Stairway to Heaven" - The same building directory sign also includes the name "Hairway to Heaven Salon" at Suite 220, a clear pun on the 1971 song by Led Zeppelin.
  • Jurassic Park - The aforementioned building directory sign additionally includes the name "Thorassic Park Chiropractors" at Suite 401, a play on the 1990 novel by Michael Crichton that would eventually grow in the massive media franchise starting with the 1993 film adaptation.
