Helen, also known as Rat Burglar, is a villain in the Hamster & Gretel episode "My Invisible Friend". She is the mother of Xavier, and had been secretly helping him for school competitions such as the spelling bee.

Physical appearance[]

Helen has light brown hair, green eyes and a slim body. She wears lipstick and earrings. She does not look like her son, Xavier.

Personality[]

Despite being the Rat Burglar, Helen seems like a good mum. She can be bossy but, stealing for her son's success, she generally cares about her son.

Skills and abilities[]

For a mum, Helen is agile, quick on her feet and has some self-defencing skills. She uses these skills as the Rat Burglar.

History[]

Background[]

Prior to marrying and having Xavier, Helen studied for and earned an English degree in University, thinking it would pay off in the future in spite of what her parents told her.

Season 1[]

After having Xavier for several years, Helen would secretly help him at winning contests hosted by Eastside Elementary School by donning the Rat Burglar costume and illegally acquiring items that are required for her to help her boy win. Prior to "My Invisible Friend", Helen successfully helped Xavier cheat at three different contests against Bailey, and successfully gave Hamster and Gretel the slip both of their two previous encounters.

In "My Invisible Friend", Helen picks up Xavier from school in preparation for the upcoming spelling bee finals against Bailey, before donning her Rat Burglar alter ego again and hitting the novelty warehouse down the street to fetch a vat of invisible ink made by the Hardy Har-Har Novelty Company. Hamster and Gretel encounter her there for a third time as a fight ensues, resulting in Gretel rather inconveniently being drenched in invisible ink as the Rat Burglar gets away with the stuff. The Rat Burglar then visited the Hardy Har-Har Novelty Company located in Brookville, presumably to get more invisible ink, before Hamster and Fred arrived to investigate, as Mr. Hardy noted to the latter two that "a fella dressed as a giant rat" went to the spelling bee afterwards.

Later, backstage at the spelling bee competition, Helen, still in her Rat Burglar disguise, meets up with Xavier once more before the finals start, revealing she will use the invisible ink on herself so she can whisper the answers in her son's ear without anyone noticing. Gretel, still invisible, overhears this and discovers that Helen and the Rat Burglar are the same person, as they engage in another battle while Xavier is to be sent on-stage. Helen douses herself in invisible ink herself so neither opponent can see each other, which partially fails when Gretel simply follows wherever her voice is coming from. Despite that, Gretel still needs help from Fred to defeat the Rat Burglar for good.

Caught

Helen and Xavier, caught red-handed.

As the battle continues on-stage, Hamster and Fred use a hexavalent lamp they borrowed from Mr. Hardy to reveal Helen's presence right as she's whispering the answer for the first word in Xavier's ear, disqualifying Xavier for the spelling bee as the whole audience learns that Xavier and his mom were cheating the whole time. Hamster then ensnares Helen in a giant mouse trap, not unlike what happened to him earlier. He then takes her to jail after Bailey wins the spelling bee properly.
