You're bored? Let's fix that, shall we? Come on, the bathroom's bored too!

Carolina Grant-Gomez

"I'm Bored" is the first segment of the eight episode of the first season of Hamster & Gretel, and the fifteenth episode overall. It is paired with "Cutie and the Beast" and premiered on Disney Channel on September 24, 2022.[1]

Gretel announces that she is bored, which proves to be a mistake as Carolina forces her to do chores around the house because of it. Kevin and Hamster manage to escape, leading to them facing off against the rodent-hating X-Terminator.

Plot

One day, Gretel complains to Kevin about there being nothing to do, quoting Shakespeare in the process. However, she makes the grave mistake of saying, "I'm so bored," out loud, prompting Carolina to task her with various household chores. This leaves Hamster and Kevin to have some bonding time per suggestion of Gretel, only for them to respond to a distress alert about a collapsed building. With help from Fred, Hamster and Kevin track the location of the distress call to an abandoned warehouse, where they encounter X-Terminator, a mad scientist who was fused with a rat containment unit during a lab accident. X-Terminator traps Hamster and plots to get rid of all rodents in the world.

Hamster defeats an army of robot minions, while Kevin manages to use PiRat―another one of the X-Terminator's gadgets―to his advantage, freeing Hamster and defeating X-Terminator. When Gretel finally manages to escape being constantly bombarded with chores thanks to Dave making the same grave mistake as Gretel, she is disappointed that she missed the battle, but is simultaneously happy that Hamster and Kevin were able to bond.

Errors

ImBoredCutieAndTheBeastDGESynopses

The incorrect synopses of "I'm Bored" and "Cutie and the Beast" (with the former combining the synopses of the two episodes, and the latter having the premise of "U.F. UH-OH!" instead), as shown on the Disney General Entertainment Content press website.

ImBoredCutieAndTheBeastDisney+Synopses

The synopses of "I'm Bored", "Cutie and the Beast" and "U.F. UH-OH!" Parts I and II on Disney+, for comparison.

  • On the Disney General Entertainment Content press website, "I'm Bored" has its synopsis erroneously merged with that of "Cutie and the Beast", while "Cutie and the Beast" is instead given the synopsis for "U.F. UH-OH!" Parts I and II by accident. The erroneous synopses match precisely with the synopses for these episode pairs as they appear on Disney+, so it is likely that the error stems from the Disney+ synopses being copied and indiscriminately applied to "I'm Bored" and "Cutie and the Beast" separately (with the fact that the production code for "I'm Bored"/"Cutie and the Beast" is 109 and that of "U.F. UH-OH!" is 110 making this causation more likely).
